Clarissa Connelly has released her debut single and video on Warp Records, ‘Wee Rosebud’. Check them out below.

The track – which reimagines a 16th-century lament – follows the Copenhagen-based composer, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist’s 2021 LP, ‘The Voyager’. Like the album, ‘Wee Rosebud’ is heavily inspired by Celtic myth and nature, and features Connelly’s trademark ethereal vocal at its centre.

It marks the artist’s first release since signing to UK tastemaker label Warp Records earlier this month. She shared the news via Instagram, writing: “Hello hello dear friends. I have signed to @warprecords and it fills me with so much joy to work with these amazing people.”

‘Wee Rosebud’ arrives alongside a self-directed video, in which a group of friends are seen dancing at a cèilidh by candlelight. “[The single] is about folding out into the world, about changing, daring to be direct, loving. Showing vulnerability, opening up towards each other,” she added.

Clarissa Connelly will perform with live instruments at London’s Vortex Jazz Club on 24th November, with all profits from the show being donated to humanitarian aid to the victims in Gaza.
