Deadmau5 reveals his new Cube 3.0 is almost complete

It's not yet known when it will be revealed...

Deadmau5 has revealed that work on the third iteration of his Cube setup is almost complete.

Taking to Reddit, he shared the news earlier this week, adding that he "figured [he'd] do all the finessing and cool shit off stream so you guys can have a few surprises when we debut."

He also told fans that he'd been working on the setup for six months, and learning lots of new skills involving programming graphics such as how to use the programme OpenGL to render high-performance graphics.

Deadmau5's Cube setup has been a widely celebrated part of his live shows in recent years. In 2017, he upgraded the original to Cube 2.0 boosting the physical set-up to make it 19-foot and 10,500-pounds. He took that out on the road over the course of 2018.

The news that Cube 3.0 is nearing completion follows on from a recent Twitch stream in which he offered a first look at the setup. He also recently shared a new track called 'Midas Heel', which is set to feature on his upcoming score for the film Polar.
