Diplo donates $100,000 to the victims of the Las Vegas shooting

“I challenge any other DJ’s or hotel owners to match it..."

Diplo has donated $100,000 to the Las Vegas shooting victims' fund.

The Major Lazer frontman has also called on other DJs and Hotels to match his generosity.

The shooting, during a country music festival, was the worst mass shooting in U.S. history, with 59 fatalities and over 500 injured.

"My deepest sympathies are with the victims of the horrific tragedy and their families," a statement reads from the DJ and producer posted on Twitter.

"It's my hope that these events will start a long-awaited and honest conversation about the importance of gun control in America.

"Las Vegas is my home, and it's devastating to see this happen in such a vibrant city with an amazing community of people I consider my family."

So far fellow DJs Steve Aoki, Kaskade, Dillon Francis, Tiesto, Marshmello and Valentino Khan have answered the call and have matched or exceeded Diplo's initial donation.
