Dr. Dre’s ‘The Chronic’ set for 30th anniversary vinyl reissue

The trailblazing G-funk album will also be returning to streaming services

Dr. Dre’s ‘The Chronic’ is set for a 30th anniversary vinyl reissue.

Originally released in 1992, 'The Chronic' featured early appearances from Snoop Dogg and marked Dre’s first solo release after parting ways with N.W.A. The LP blazed a trail for G-funk, lighting the way for a flurry of West Coast hip-hop artists to follow, as well as going to number three on the Billboard 200 chart.

Out on 21st April, the reissue is being handled by Interscope Records who worked on 'The Chronic' in 1992 (via Death Row Records).

'The Chronic' will also be returning to streaming services alongside the vinyl release. Pre-a copy of the 2xLP vinyl here.

Back in 2021 we reported that Dr. Dre is opening a new high school in Los Angeles alongside record executive Jimmy Iovine. Death Row Records, the seminal label launched by Dre, Suge Knight, The D.O.C., and Dick Griffey, also marked its 30th anniversary that year. Celebrations include a reissue of the soundtrack to 'Above The Rim' on cassette.

In 2019, Forbes magazine revealed Dre was the highest-paid musician of that decade.
