Duval Timothy has announced details of his upcoming album, 'Meeting with a Judas Tree'.

Primarily recorded at the multi-disciplinary London artist's home studio between 2019 and 2022, the six-track release is set for release on 11th November via Carrying Colour Records. Coming a year after the release of his nine-track album with Rosie Lower, 'Son', recording for the album also took place in locations including the Sierra Leonean capital of Freetown and Spoleto, Italy.

As well as featuring different pianos, a Moog Grandmother synth, double bass and electric guitar, 'Meeting with a Judas Tree' also incorporates various field recordings, documenting the sound of various birds, insects, monkeys, bats, plants, trees and stones.

"While making this record, I wanted to explore what the natural environment means personally," said Timothy. "I went on many trips into nature to engage with plant life and natural materials. These included everyday strolls around South London, walks with my mum in the hills surrounding Bath ('Up'), hikes through Freetown, the hills of Spoleto, up line in Ghana and nature sanctuaries in Sierra Leone ('Wood'). I found incredible examples of nature in all of these contexts, which I felt personally close to."

Pre-order the album, both digitally and on vinyl, on Bandcamp, and stream lead track 'Mutate' below.
