Elkka has shared a new single, 'Passionfruit'. You can listen to the track, which is taken from her forthcoming debut album, below.

For her latest, the Cardiff-born, London-based DJ, musician and producer has enlisted the talent of John Carroll Kirby. The revered American pianist and composer lays claim to a huge archive of collaborations, including Connan Moccasin, Sébastien Tellier, Frank Ocean and Yves Tumor. The release follows on from 'Babe' in October, which also landed on Ninja Tune.

"This song was born out of an improvisation between John and I in the studio. I took it home and expected to cut up certain sections, re-arrange etcetera, but I quickly realised that I loved how it developed, expanded and didn’t rush," Elkka explained.

"That's what the song is about," she continued. "The pleasure in taking your time with someone, to explore them and them you. There’s nothing better. When I think about women and sensuality... this is what melts me.”

Elkka, whose DJ Kicks mix arrived last year, also has a number of shows lined up in the coming months, including Bristol's Lakota and Liverpool Meraki in the UK (27th January and 10th February respectively), and Oslo institution Jaeger (17th February). On 31st March, she joins a stacked line-up at London's Drumsheds for Bonobo Presents Outlier, and has already confirmed Barcelona's Brunch Electronik festival for 26th May.
