Glastonbury's Beat Hotel to launch new festival in Marrakech

Gerd Janson, Peach and Palms Trax are confirmed...

Glastonbury’s Beat Hotel will launch a new festival in Marrakech, with dates set for 28th - 31st March 2019.

Beat Hotel Marrakech will take place on the outskirts of the Moroccan city, in a 27-acre resort a short drive from the iconic medieval medina. Organisers are promising the sort of astute bookings people have come to expect from the UK edition, with a broad musical programme comprising local acts and artists, alongside international DJ talent such as Gerd Janson, Peach and Palms Trax.

Hunee, Maribou State, Andrew Weatherall, Gilles Peterson, HAAi, Job Jobse, Moscoman, and Awesome Tapes From Africa are also down to perform. Morocco's Casa Voyager, Yasmean, Polyswitch, Jessin, Kosh and the all-female Deep Throat Choir are amongst the other names confirmed.

A separate literary roster will be curated by publishing giant Faber & Faber, featuring 'Trainspotting' and 'The Acid House' scribe, Irvine Welsh. Morocco already has a growing reputation as a party destination thanks to the ongoing success of Oasis Festival, held in Marrakech in September, and Moga Festival, which took place at the coastal town of Essaouira last week. Head to the Beat Hotel website for full details on next year's offering, and line-up.
