Here's the next 50 acts who just missed out on Top 100 DJs 2017

We countdown from No. 101 to 150... and the results may surprise you!

The Top 100 DJs poll results always make for fascinating reading. As you’ve no doubt realised by now, Martin Garrix has again been voted the world’s No.1 DJ, while in the upper echelons there’s not a great deal of movement — bar a few significant exceptions.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have hung onto the No.2 spot, while Armin van Buuren is back up to No.3 — a spot he held for several years in the mid-noughties before rising to the apex for a record-breaking five times. Armin leapfrogs his sometime Two Is One partner Hardwell — another former winner — while Tiesto, David Guetta, Afrojack and Steve Aoki all hold steady in the top 10.

Here's a few interesting stats about this year's poll. There were over a million legitimate votes cast this year — a marginal increase on 2016’s million-smashing achievement — and this was undoubtedly due in part to further opening up the voting process to China this year via a fully updated and translated validation mechanism. There were also 10 new entries, seven re-entires and five non-movers in 2017 with the most votes coming from the USA, followed by Brazil, Mexico, The Netherlands, India, UK, Spain and more.

But what about the acts that fell just short of the Top 100 DJs rankings? Here, we reveal the next 50 DJs in the list — and there's a diverse smattering of music styles representing the breadth of dance music as a genre. Acts like Borgore, Dyro, Netsky and Martin Solveig who made it into the poll in 2016 have dropped into the Next 50 list this year, whilst underground spinners including Maceo Plex, Solomun and Disclosure have all made it into the main rankings in 2017.

In terms of the Next 50 list, Skrillex-backed favourite Slushii just missed out on the poll at No. 101, while Jetlag and Loco Dice also nearly made it at No. 102 and 103 respectively. Pop-meets-D&B duo SIGMA are in at No. 104 and French young gun Madeon is also close to the Top 100 list at No. 105.
