Hudson Mohawke and Nikki Nair link up for new EP, ‘Set The Roof’, on Warp
The pair "show off their ability to work with a wide palette and varied tempo" on the three-track digital EP
Hudson Mohawke and Nikki Nair have released a new collaborative EP, ‘Set The Roof’, on Warp. Listen to it below.
The three-track digital EP features the voice of singer-songwriter and actor Tayla Parx on the peppy titular cut, while on the second track, 'More Recently', Nair and Mohawke "show off their ability to work with a wide palette and varied tempo – with shuffling, slumping garage. The third track, 'Demuro', reworks a French house sample into a frenzied club trip.
A six-track USB version of 'Set The Roof' will also arrive on 7th July, which is available to pre-order here. Check out 'Set The Roof' below or stream it here.
Earlier this year, Mohawke shared the 12th edition of his long-standing Valentine's-themed 'Slow Jams' mix series. The 50-minute mix, which is available as a free download, flicks through R&B, soul, funk and easy listening gems.
In 2022, the Scottish DJ and producer dropped his third full-length LP via Warp Records, 'Cry Sugar' and unwittingly found viral fame on TikTok with 'Cbat'.
Atlanta DJ and producer Nikki Nair has been busy in recent years dropping singles for Astrophonica, Studio Barnhus and his 2023 EP The Brislanta. Earlier this year, he popped into Chloé Robinson and DJ ADHD 's track ‘Get In The Bin’.
