MAJOR LAZER CONFIRM TWO NEW SINGLES IN JANUARY, DETAIL NICKI MINAJ & PARTYNEXTDOOR COLLABORATION

The EDM outfit’s next single will drop on Friday 6th January 2017…

Major Lazer’s forthcoming album, ‘Music Is The Weapon’, is slated for release in January next year through Diplo’s Mad Decent Records.

The lead single from it was released in July titled ‘Cold Water’, featuring Justin Beiber and MØ. The video for that track landed in September, shortly before their Showtek collaboration ‘Believer’ followed.

Now, after confirming that two new Major Lazer singles would be landing in January on their Beats 1 show last week, Diplo has revealed that the first is set to land on Friday 6th January and is a collaboration with Nicki Minaj and Partynextdoor. He revealed the details to Billboard on the red carpet at the American Music Awards over the weekend.

Speaking on their Beats 1 show, Diplo also revealed that Major Lazer are set to drop a Christmas album this festive season with Protoge, titled ‘Merry Christmas Tree’. Listen to a clip of their Beats 1 show below.

Last month, 2015 Top 100 DJs winners Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike dropped a festival-ready electro-house remix of Major Lazer and DJ Snake's 2015 smash hit 'Lean On'.

That was after it was widely reported that Major Lazer use group therapy and hypnosis to deal with the stresses of celebrity stardom, following an interview in August. Diplo subsequently tweeted an image of several publications running the story with the caption, “when you joke during an interview,” confirming he was trolling all involved.
