The follow-up to 2019’s ‘Dolos’ will arrive on 11th August via Coil Records/Supernature, and is set to build on the “visual artistry and skillful storytelling” of the acclaimed debut.
The album’s first single, ‘Carapace’ is the first music from the Manchester-based artist since 2021’s three-track ‘Unearth’ EP, which was inspired by the natural world and included a thematic ‘fungi identification kit bundle’.
Continuing on the theme of artistic experimentation, the new album will come alongside a limited run of 3D miniatures which Murlo has designed and printed to bring elements of the story to life, as well as a printed visual compendium that delves deeper into the lore of the album.
“Combining my visual work with music has always been a way to add another layer to what I'm writing, a way to engage the audience in a more immersive way,” he said on the project. “The music is more than just an accompaniment to the narrative - it’s a character in its own right.”
‘Puckle’ is set for release on 11th August. Listen to ‘Carapace’ below.
