Donna Summer

A new Donna Summer documentary, Love To Love You, is due to premiere later this month.

Love to Love You will feature archival footage and weave in never-before-seen home movie footage alongside interviews with the disco figurehead's family and friends.

The film was co-directed by Summer’s daughter, Brooklyn Sudano, and Oscar-winning filmmaker Roger Ross Williams and produced by Polygram Entertainment. It will premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival – which runs from February 16th-26th – before landing on HBO and HBO Max in May.

HBO describe the film as "a personal portrait of Summer on and off the stage" and "a rich window into the surprising range of her artistry, from songwriting to painting, while exploring the highs and lows of a life lived on the global stage".

Last December saw the release of a new documentary tracing the history and evolution of UK garage with appearances from key UKG figures like So Solid Crew, Lisa Maffia, Ms. Dynamite, Scott Garcia, Dane Bowers, MC Creed, Majestic, Heartless Crew, MC Bushkin, Megaman and more.

Released last summer, The Rest Is History documented the early years of jungle and drum & bass; a five-part BET/My5 series highlighted The Evolution of Black British Music, segmented by genre; and Fatboy Slim put out a film celebrating the 20th anniversary of his Big Beach Boutique party.
