Nicole Moudaber launches charity to prevent female genital mutilation
The campaign is called ELEVEN...
Nicole Moudaber is using her visibility to raise awareness of an important subject with the launch of a new charity.
Named ELEVEN, the charity has been set up to raise awareness of female genital mutilation, while raising money to support survivors and help to prevent it.
She has set up the charity alongside psychotherapist and human rights activist Leyla Hussein and Magool, which is an organisation Hussein founded.
Female genital mutilation is regarded a human rights violation and is illegal in most of the countries where it commonly happens, but over 200 million around the world are living with the consequences of FGM. Many others have died as a result of the practice.
A number of figures from the dance music scene have given their support to Moudaber’s charity including the likes of Carl Craig, Luciano and Martin Buttrich. You can find out more about ELEVEN and the cause via the GoFundMe page, where you can also donate money or buy a bracelet that Moudaber is selling to raise money for survivors.

Nicole Moudaber will play at Glasgow’s Sub Club for DJ Mag Sessions on 25th October. She also recently remixed two Moby tracks for a new EP which is out now.
