NTS Radio shuts studios temporarily, continues with remote broadcasting and mixes

The online station has shut its global studios to combat the spread of COVID-19

NTS Radio has temporarily shut its stations worldwide amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the midst of the global outbreak of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) the station, which won the Outstanding Contribution at last year’s DJ Mag Best Of British Awards, has made the decision to temporarily close its studios in London, Manchester, Los Angeles and Shanghai until further notice. 

However, the station will continue to broadcast 24/7, playing remote broadcasts from NTS residents as well as its usual selection of specialist mixes and shows. The announcement was made this morning via social media, with a post showing breakfast show host Charlie Bones and his guest, Time Is Away’s Jack Rollo, broadcasting from Bones’ make-shift home studio. The news comes amid global event and festival cancellations, club and venue closures, and limitations or bans being placed on mass gatherings. The British government are currently preparing to ban mass gatherings and crowds in the coming weeks, as the global outbreak of coronavirus, or COVID-19, continues to spread. 

Late last week, an online petition was created to support those in the events industry during the pandemic.
