The duo’s second single in two months is “about a very fundamental human nature, levels of sexual tension”

OLAN and QRTR have shared a new track, ‘Control’, via ODESZA'S Foreign Family Collective. Listen to it below.

The single represents a coming together of two fast-rising electronic artists, and follows their previous collaboration, ‘All U Need’, from April. The track blends QRTR’s leftfield house rhythms with OLAN’s personalised fusion of vocals,  guitars and live electronic programming.

OLAN describes ‘Control’ as being “about a very fundamental human nature, levels of sexual tension. We’re playing off of tension and release. We just went back and forth and this track came together quickly. I wanted to test it during my set at ABGT 500 back in October so we mixed it in my hotel that morning and not that much has changed since then.”

The Foreign Family Collective was founded by production duo ODESZA in 2015, and has previously hosted releases from RÜFÜS DU SOL, NASAYA, MEMBA, and Mild Minds. Prior to the release of their 2022 album, ‘The Last Goodbye’, ODESZA reflected on their career so far in an interview with DJ Mag.

Last year, QRTR caught up with DJ Mag before her set at last year’s Miami Pool Party, while OLAN performed a live set from DJ Mag’s Anjunabeats Label Takeover.

Catch OLAN & QRTR live on tour with ODESZA later this summer. Listen to ‘Control’ below or stream it here.
