“Creating and listening back to this record felt like a huge weight being lifted, and I’m very happy to be setting it free”

Otik has released his debut album, ‘Cosmosis’, via Martyn’s 3024 label. Check it out below.

The 11-track LP follows the London-based DJ and producer’s 2021 ‘Soulo’ EP for the imprint, and features the previously-released title track alongside singles, ‘Epiphania’ and ‘Rebirth’. This time around, Otik’s music takes on a wider range, moving from ethereal ambient sounds into energetic drum & bass.

Inspired by the filmmaker Terrence Malick, known for his films like ‘The Tree of Life’ and ‘Voyage of Time’, which delve into numerous philosophical themes, ‘Cosmosis’ tells the story of rebirth through with its intricate sound design and a pace that shifts throughout the album.

“Creating and listening back to this record felt like a huge weight being lifted, and I’m very happy to be setting it free,” Otik wrote on Instagram. “I hope it gives you some sort of comfort like it has for me.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣”

‘Cosmosis’ marks the fourth album released on Martyn’s 3024 label in its ten-year history. Last January, the Italian-Ivorian producer, Ehua, also dropped her EP ‘Clouds’ on the label.

Earlier this year, Otik also debuted on Aus Music with the ‘Xoul Trap’ EP
