Phelimuncasi have a new music video for their track 'Dlala Ngesinqa', featuring NET GALA. Watch it below.
The track is off Malathon, Makan Nana and Khera's second album for Nyege Nyege Tapes, called 'Ama Gogela', following 2019's 'Phelimuncasi: 2013 - 2019'. On 'Dlala Ngesinqa', the Durban gqom trio enlist South Korean producer NET GALA. They're affiliated with the SVBKVLT label, which has an ongoing collaborative relationship with the Nyege Nyege Tapes crew.
Nyege Nyege Festival's latest edition went ahead this past weekend after the Ugandan parliament called for it to be shut down. While one MP called it "a breeding ground for sexual immorality", the Prime Minister and Minister for State Tourism gave it the green light, defending the event as a "hub of tourism".
Last month, Makua Adimora interviewed Phelimuncasi about their latest album, their political genre and "why their music is here to entertain and agitate in equal measure".
