Sofia Kourtesis shares new single, ‘Vajkoczy’: Listen
The track is named after the neurosurgeon who saved Kourtesis’ mother’s life
Sofia Kourtesis has shared a new single from her forthcoming debut album, ‘Madres’, out 27th October. Listen to ‘Vajkoczy’ below.
Arriving today via Ninja Tune, the uplifting fourth single is named after the German neurosurgeon, Peter Vajkoczy, who saved Kourtesis’ mother’s life last year.
It follows previous singles ‘Madres’, ‘By Your Side’, and ‘Si Te Portas Bonito’, along with the standalone single ‘Estación Esperanza’, which will all appear on the producer’s debut album, out 27th October.
Described as being full of “hope and the value that big love can create miracles”, the 10-track album is dedicated to Kourtesis’ mother who’s health was deteriorating rapidly before Vajkoczy, one of the country’s leading surgeons, performed the successful operation.
To accompany the new single, Kourtesis has announced a string of new tour dates for November, including an RY X Official Afterparty at London’s Fabric, along with shows at Berlin’s Funkhaus, Melkweg Upstairs in Amsterdam, and Canvas Manchester. Tickets are available here.
