Viceland has released the next trailer for its new spoof documentary 'What Would Diplo Do?', which stars former teen heartthrob James Van Der Beek of Dawson's Creek fame as Major Lazer's Diplo.

'What Would Diplo Do?' is a mockumentary series about Major Lazer frontman Diplo who during his illustrious career has been become one of dance music's most influential DJs and producers.

From Diplo searching for new sounds by blending a violin and running naked through a hotel, Viceland and Van Der Beek takes aim at the EDM and one of its most well-known figureheads for what looks like a highly entertaining satire series.

There will be the usual EDM-centric cameos, too, from wannabe funnyman Dillon Francis, Pineapple Express' Bobby Lee and Friday Night Lights star Dora Madison who plays Diplo’s long-suffering assistant Karen.

The original idea for the new series spawned from a previously released viral video featuring Van Der Beek as Diplo — the clip was commissioned to promote Diplo's Mad Decent Block Party events across the States in June 2016.

The series debuts on Viceland on 3rd August.
