Watch Lauryn Hill and The Fugees perform together at Global Citizen Festival 2023

The trio played a string of the Fugees' much-loved tracks, including ‘Ready or Not’ and ‘Fu-Gee-La’

Lauryn Hill and the Fugees came together on stage last Saturday (23rd Saturday) to play this year's Global Citizen Festival in New York.

Marking the 25th anniversary of Hill's landmark 1998 album, 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill,' she played a number of her own songs, including 'Doo Wop (That Thing)' and 'Everything is Everything'.

Hill was then joined by Fugees members Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel and the trio played a string of Fugees' tracks, including ‘How Many Mics’, ‘Ready or Not’, Killing Me Softly With His Song’ and ‘Fu-Gee-La’.

This year's Global Citizen Festival took place in New York's Central Park was headlined by Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jung Kook, and Anitta with performances from Conan Gray, D-Nice, Sofia Carson, and Stray Kids. Watch the Fugees performance below (around the four-hour mark).

In June, the Fugees reunited for a surprise performance at the The Roots Picnic festival in Philadelphia. Prior to that, they briefly reunited in 2004 and 2021.

In January 2022, the group announced a 25th anniversary tour to commemorate the release of their Grammy-winning debut album 'The Score', but later cancelled their plans. In April, Fugees' member Prakazrel "Pras" Michel was found guilty of political conspiracy. He faces a maximum possible sentence of 20 years in prison.
