Behringer announce new classic vocoder clone

Their new VC340 Vocoder and String Ensemble heavily resembles a Roland classic...

Behringer have announced yet another classic instrument clone, this time bringing a new vocoder-slash-string ensemble to market. The VC340 had been teased as far back as May last year when eagle eyed synth fans matched a PCB teaser with the layout of the legendary Roland vocoder. Announced on their Facebook page, the news comes off the back of a fluster of activity around Behringer's potential new clones, including a Minimoog clone for only $299.

Last month, as reported by DJ Mag, a series of new products went live on their website before being taken down followed by an explanation. Interestingly, the VC340 announced today wasn't on the list of synths 'leaked' in December, adding further confusion to the German giant's intentions.

One thing we do know is that the VC340 is real and although no release date or price has been announced, we're expecting to hear more during this year's NAMM show later this month.
