Fever Ray has cancelled the remaining shows on her 2018 tour, citing “general anxiety and panic attacks".

The Swedish electronic guru and one half of live duo The Knife, Karin Dreijer made the announcement via Twitter today. She had been due to play a further seven dates in October and November following a lengthy live schedule in the wake of the critically-acclaimed album 'Plunge', including a headline performance at The Warehouse Project, Manchester

"Many of you know already that I've been struggling with general anxiety and panic attacks for a long time," she said. "I never really know when it will strike or how much it will affect me. I am very thankful for the past seven months, that I have been able to tour and meet you wonderful and amazing people. The last month though has been rough and my anxiety has started to escalate. I will now have to take a break from touring."

The news comes at a time when mental health issues are at the top of the agenda in musical circles. Gilles Peterson is curating seven days of events in aid of a charity that works to combat psychological problems in young people, with London venue The Cause set to host a drum 'n' bass BBQ pool party alongside The CALMzone, Help Musicians UK and Mind in Haringey this weekend.
