Jay-Z is bringing his Made In America festival back to Philadelphia later this year.
After taking a year out in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival is set to mark its 10th anniversary on the Labor Day weekend of September 4th and 5th, at its usual Benjamin Franklin Parkway home.
“We are thrilled to announce Made in America 2021 on the legendary Benjamin Franklin Parkway," Jay-Z said in a statement. "This year will be like no other, as Made In America celebrates 10 years of music history making moments."

DMX’s posthumous album will feature guest appearances from Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Nas, Griselda, Bono, Westside Gunn, Conway the Machine, Benny the Butcher, The LOX, Usher and the rapper’s own son, Exodus Simmons.

Following in the footsteps of The Notorious B.I.G., Tupac and N.W.A and Public Enemy, Brooklyn-born Jay-Z is the most recent hip-hop artist to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, after the inductees were revealed earlier this week.
Alongside singer-songwriter Carole King, Foo Fighters, The Go-Go's, Todd Rundgren and Tina Turner, Jay-Z makes up the 2021 performers list, with electronic group Kraftwerk and blues musician Charley Patton recieving awards for Early Influences.

TMZ reports that the rapper is planning to further extend his business projects by entering into the world of TV and film production, with a trademark having been filed for the name '2/J'.
Square Inc – the financial services company founded by Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey – has bought a majority share in Jay-Z’s TiDAL for $297m. TiDAL was founded in Norway in 2014 before being acquired by Jay-Z and other artists including Beyoncé and Rihanna in 2015. Those artists are now the “second-largest group of shareholders”, Dorsey explained in a series of tweets. “Given what Square has been able to do for sellers of all sizes and individuals through Cash App, we believe we can now work for artists to see the same success for them, and us,” Dorsey tweeted.
Jay-Z has posted bail and paid fines for protestors in Wisconsin.
Rapper Jay-Z, along with his legal arm, Team ROC, have been paying the bail money and fines for those arrested and fined in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, following protests surrounding the death of Alvin Cole. Cole, a 17-year-old Black teenager from Wisconsin, was shot and killed outside a Wauwatosa mall in February. Protests errupted following the news that Cole's killer, police officer Joseph Mensah, would not face charges for the killing.
Pharrell has collaborated with Jay-Z on a new track.
The new track, 'Entrepeneur', is the latest collaboration from Pharrell and Jay-Z, who have worked together on records over the last two decades. The track has been produced by The Neptunes, the production duo comprised of Chad Hugo and Pharrell Williams, and has also been shared alongside a new music video celebrating Black entrepeneurs.
Jay-Z will open a university next year.
Named after his entertainments company, Jay-Z's Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment will be a faculty of Brooklyn's Long Island University in New York, offering undergraduate degrees in music, music technology, entrepreneurship and production, and sports management.
JAY-Z, Yo Gotti and Team ROC have filed a lawsuit over “dire” conditions at a Mississippi prison.
JAY-Z's legal arm, Team ROC, and Memphis rapper Yo Gotti, have filed legal action on behalf of 227 inmates at Parchman Prison in Mississippi. The lawsuit, which addresses conditions for prisoners at the prison, has been brought against Mississippi Department of Corrections Commissioner Nathan Burl Cain, and prison healthcare provider Centurion.
