Steve Angello has claimed that ”Swedish House Mafia is back“ during his show at Tomorrowland presents Garden of Madness at Ushuaïa Ibiza. You can watch footage of the gig below.
The trio, made up of Angello, Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso reformed at Ultra earlier this year (March).
Axwell ^ Ingrosso are set to put their project on the back burner next year in order to focus on the return of Swedish House Mafia, Sebastian Ingrosso has said.
In an interview with Swedish publication, Metro, Ingrosso discussed the decision to reform Swedish House Mafia, production plans and the natural decision to put his and Axwell’s project on hold while the pair reunited with Steve Angello.
In explaining why they trio made the decision to reform, Ingrosso said, ““We felt it was time, and we missed it. And above all, we had fans who wanted us to reunite.”
Swedish House Mafia are back in the studio and working on new music, Steve Angello has confirmed.
The Swedish House Mafia member revealed the news in a new interview with Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter.
"During summer everyone is traveling a lot,” he said. “But we’ve entered the studio. I can’t really say much more."
Swedish House Mafia have split with their longtime manager barely five months since they returned to live performing.
Amy Thomson, who has worked with the dance supergroup since 2004, has thanked the band in what is an amicable separation.
“I wish them so much joy and happiness and success and I will be watching proudly but the era of me with the boys is at an end,” said Thomson in an Instagram post.
Swedish House Mafia will play Tomorrowland 2019 “by any means necessary”, according to Steve Angello.
The EDM star – and one third of the chart-topping trio – revealed the news in a new interview with Dutch newspaper, De Telegraaf.
Swedish House Mafia are set to announce a world tour in 2019, according to Oliver Heldens.
The Dutch DJ/producer let the news slip in his new Heldeep radio show whilst announcing Axwell Λ Ingrosso track ‘Together’.
“So, Swedish House Mafia have now officially reformed, and are announcing a World Tour in 2019,” he said.
“This week’s Heldeep classic was made in 2007 by two thirds of Swedish House Mafia. This is Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso with ‘Together’.”
Steve Angello has spoken about the pressures of touring and the effects it can have on even the most successful artist’s mental health.
In a recent interview with Swedish publication Aftonbladet’s digital radio segment, the Swedish House Mafia member was asked about how the recent death of his friend and contemporary Avicii aged just 28 had affected him.
Axwell Λ Ingrosso dropped a new track, titled ‘Dancing Alone’, last week (29th June).
The duo have now used a billboard advertising the release to seemingly tease the return of Swedish House Mafia – the trio made up of Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello.
The billboard, which you can see below, first shows the ‘Dancing Alone’ artwork, followed by an error message along with the word “loading”, before Swedish House Mafia’s trademark white dots are shown.
