Carl Cox’s and Martin Garrix’s much-hyped documentary ‘What We Started’ has officially released in theatres, on iTunes and On Demand today.

The film had its red carpet premiere last night at The Regal South Beach during the height of Miami Music Week. The film’s stars Martin Garrix, Carl Cox and Tiësto were in attendance and also participated in a Q&A directly after the film.

EDM fans have been waiting for the release of ‘What We Started’ since the official trailer dropped in February.

Featuring an impressive cast of electronic dance music superstars, ‘What We Started’ explores the past, present and future of electronic dance music. The film also features David Guetta, Afrojack, Paul Oakenfold, Seth Troxler, Moby, Erick Morillo and other artists. Also featured in the film is Russell Faibisch, the co-founder of Ultra Music Festival, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this weekend and begins today.

The film’s makers recently shared a never-before-seen clip (below), which focuses on the impact ‘Animals’ had on Garrix’s early career.

While Garrix is not performing at Ultra this weekend, Carl Cox is today headlining his world-famous Resistance Megastructure at the festival. You can livestream Cox's set here.
