Hackney Arts Centre announces line-up for relaunch in September

The Dalston venue is officially launching as EartH next month

Details of the September relaunch of the venue formerly known as Hackney Arts Centre have been revealed.

As well as announcing its new and re-branded official name, Evolutionary Arts Hackney AKA EartH, the renovated cultural venue has also unveiled its updated autumn programme.

Kicking off with the Hackney Record Fair on 2nd September, the Dalston venue will play host to the likes of Leon Vynehall, Gilles Peterson, Grouper, Erol Alkan and George FitzGerald.

Previously a derelict art deco cinema, EartH originally got the go-ahead in July last year following approval from Hackney Council.

Also founder of Shoreditch multi-purpose events space Village Underground, EartH's Auro Foxcroft said of the new venue: “We want to fill the place with the kind of performances that make you think twice and hopefully leave with that feeling of inspiration, possibility and change.”
