Premiere: DJ IC ‘My Story’

London’s DJ IC returns with three cuts of emotive, soulful Afro House

DJ IC has a new EP on the way via his own All Shades of The Drum Recordings label. Listen to the title track, ‘My Story’, below.

The longstanding London DJ – whose sound has evolved from early years spent spinning jungle, garage and grime as part of the Aylesbury Allstars crew to his legendary status in the UK Afro house scene – presents three brand new cuts of deep and soulful house intended to showcase a more “sincere side” of his music.

‘Reflection’ and ‘Gratitude’ drape gentle piano and guitar passages over unmistakable Afro house foundations, all pulsing drums and hypnotic synths. ‘My Story’ is similarly pensive, its twinkling keys and vocal echoes giving it the feel of a sweet, deep house lullaby.

The release of ‘My Story’ follows IC's recent collaboration with Carl Andrews and Bobby Digital on ‘Undiluted’, which also landed on All Shades of The Drum Recordings. It’s been a busy year for the label, which has also released music from the likes of Stimulant Shadow, NxOmS, DJ Jim Mastershine and Zulu Mageba over the past few months.

‘My Story’ will be released on 18th October. You can buy it via Traxsource, or pre-save it on Spotify.
