FILM will release a new EP, ‘Miwonowi’, via Remmah Records later this week. Listen exclusively to DART’s remix of the title track below.
Landing this Friday (3rd November), the project features four original cuts from the New Delhi-based DJ, producer, and promoter, alongside a remix from Dublin’s DART. While his eponymous debut album on Qilla Records deals in trippy breaks, broken beat and jungle, ‘Miwonowi’ finds FILM, aka Sanil Sudan, venturing into peak-time house terrain with unremitting grooves and bubbly cosmic energy.
“The whole EP is a representation of all the great feel-good house music I love,” FILM shared on the release. “It’s my homage to a great time of raving followed by the never ending after hours.”
From the dexterous club-tuned rhythms of the title track, which samples percussion from an unnamed German Afro-dub band, and the ebullient 90s grooves of ‘Living With Sound’, to the coruscating synths of ‘Polly’ – a back-to-basics house jam recorded in one take that captures sunny winter mornings in Delhi – it’s another knockout from a leading voice in India’s underground electronic scene.
The EP comes paired with a remix from DART, who offers his own sub-crushing take on Sudan’s lead single. “Buzzing to be welcomed back to Remmah!,” the Irish producer, who released his own debut EP via the label in 2021, shared. “It’s also my first official remix in two years. I knew I wanted to approach this one with the club in mind. 909s, Tri-saw bass and moody pads – perfect for a dark, sweaty club.”
‘Miwonowi’ marks the thirteenth release on Remmah, the Belfast-born, London-based DJ's Hammer’s digital-only label, and follows EPs from label co-founder Hammer alongside KILIMANJARO, Rhythm From Mars, Boots & Kats, Opus Klein, and more.
‘Miwonowi’ is out 3rd November via Remmah Records. Pre-order the EP here, and listen exclusively to DART’s remix of the title track below.
