SUCHI will release a new EP, ‘Ghungroo’, later this week via !K7 Records. Have an exclusive first listen to Sam Goku’s remix of ‘Blåmerke’.

Having retreated to the drawing board following the release of her ‘Birdy Bell’ EP last summer, the Oslo-born, Manchester-based producer emerges with a renewed sense of sound and self on its vibrant successor, ‘Ghungroo’.

Named after the metallic bells worn around the ankles of Indian dancers, here, SUCHI lets cultural influences be her guide, journeying across various tempos and territories with pin-point precision. Aerated groover ‘Bottlepop’ takes its cues from funky house, whilst ‘Blåmerke’ – Norwegian for ‘Bruise’ – does exactly that, with sonorous bass frequencies and polyrhythmic drums cranked up to double-time.

Rounding out the project, Munich’s Sam Goku serves up a shimmering, late-night remix of ‘Blåmerke’, his first release since September’s ‘Glistening Club Music, Vol. 3’ EP on Permanent Vacation.

SUCHI debuted her new Ikke Sant party concept – named after her Rinse FM radio show of the same name – at The Pickle Factory in London last month. Catch her performing at Sneaky Pete’s on 19th March alongside Edinburgh local, J Wax. Tickets are still available here.

‘Ghungroo’ will be available in both digital and on eco-friendly, PVR-free, 100% recycled vinyl from 15th March. Pre-order the EP here, and have an exclusive first listen to Sam Goku’s remix of ‘Blåmerke’.

SUCHI featured on DJ Mag’s Fresh Kicks series back in 2022, where she delivered a “deep, percussive, bassy, and hypnotic selection with touches of euphoria.” Read the full feature and listen to the mix here
