Maloca Records is set to release the second edition of its V/A compilation series later this month. Listen exclusively to Ultima Esuna & Destrata’s contribution, ‘Semillas y Clavos’, below.
Across 17 tracks, the Brussels-based label unites several producers spearheading club music’s next-wave. From bass-charged belters and trippy two-steppers courtesy of Bambounou, NVST, and DJ JM, to the transfixing rhythms of Tristan Arp, De Grandi, MI MI, and more, ‘Maloca, Vol. 2’ is a celebration of forward-thinking talent around the world.
The compilation also features the inaugural link-up from Montreal-based Mexican sound designer and composer, Ultima Esuna, and Vancouver-based DJ/producer, Destrata. On ‘Semillas y Clavos’ (which translates to ‘Seeds and Cloves’), the duo marry mystic synths with percolating, dembow-inspired percussion for a bonafide late-night mover.
