Bklava has launched her Spin Suga label with a new single, ‘Make It Work’. Check it out below.

The track heralds a new era for the London-based DJ, producer and vocalist as they take their sound in a more club-focused direction. ‘Make It Work’ marks Bklava’s first solo release since January’s ‘It’s Your Time’ for Ministry of Sound.

Speaking about the single, Bklava said: “Make It Work’ Is my mantra, really... The lyrics serve as a reminder to make things happen for myself without waiting on others to fix things. Finding meaning in my music is a really important part of my songwriting process, and I always try to write lyrics that are thought-provoking, but ‘Make It Work’ is more about a manifestation through the lyrics and what the sonics allow people to feel whilst listening.”

The Brighton-based label originated as a platform aimed at uplifting women and non-binary electronic artists to pursue careers in the music industry. Having previously hosted events, livestreams and more, the platform is now expanding into an imprint for Bklava and other likeminded artists to share their music and be “empowered through autonomy.”

“This allows my independent journey to begin and I honestly think now is the perfect time!,” they shared on Instagram. “Definitely been making moves behind the scenes more so than ever this year and keeping my head down. This is something I am so proud of and extremely excited to get moving!”

‘Make It Work’ is out now via Spin Suga. Check it out below.
