Brussels club Fuse will remain open for maximum two years under “very strict conditions”

The club will be forced to reduce noise levels at the start and end of the night

Brussels club Fuse is set to remain open for maximum of two years under “very strict conditions”.

Last month it was reported that Fuse, one of Belgium's best-known clubs which opened in 1994, had been forced to close its doors as a result of complaints from a single neighbour who bought a house in the area "some years ago". A petition was then launched by The Brussels by Night Federation that drew around 65,000 signatures.

As Fuse explains in a new statement posted on Instagram, the Brussels Regional Administration (Brussel Leefmilieu/Bruxelles Environnement) have agreed to let the club reopen if it adheres to a new set of conditions.

One of these conditions is to reduce the noise levels at the start and end of the night to lower than 95dBA. Fuse says "this will mean we can only play acceptable levels during a few hours in the middle of the night".

The club will also no longer be able open for three nights over the weekends and only occasionally be able to stay open until 7AM.

"Fuse has been saved from immediate closure. However, the club, its many visitors, artists, and employees remain in uncertainty as the threat to Fuse in particular and club culture in Brussels at large still persists." Read the full statement from Fuse below.
