Oh Annie Oh Don't Call Me Exotic

DJ Oh Annie Oh's podcast, Don't Call Me "Exotic" (DCME), has returned for a third season.

The series began in 2021, with a second season launching in 2022 featuring interviews with the likes of Monki, Pianwooo and more. The latest set of episodes was produced in collaboration with Seoul Community Radio and developed during the host's recent trip to the South Korean capital, where she was born.

Reconnecting with her roots, and the thriving grassroots creative scene in the area, the show compares the experiences of working artists in the city with those in the UK, where Annie is now based. Guests across the five-part season include trans activist and former drag performer Jungle, SHADE Seoul co-promoter and resident NET GALA, studio owner Yuzo, producer Leevisa, and artist Uma Therma, who forms one-half of the duo Salamanda.

Topics touch on running open spaces for communities, gender politics in the West and East Asia, DJ tips, and support for marginalised communities in conservative societies. Episodes are available through Apple, Google and Spotify. You can listen to the first instalment below.
