Electronic music book publisher Velocity Press is to open a new flagship bookstore in South London.

It will be based at Holdrons Arcade on Rye Lane in Peckham, and Velocity Press' plans are to make it "a haven for electronic music aficionados" with a carefully curated selection of books, magazines, merchandise and posters, as well as a gallery.

"We are thrilled to unveil our very own bookshop, dedicated exclusively to electronic music literature," Velocity Press' Colin Steven said in a statement. "With the opening of this store, we'll provide a physical space where enthusiasts can immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of electronic music culture."

The store will also host various events, including book signings, workshops, panel discussions, and photography and art exhibitions all related to the electronic music and club culture that forms the focus of Velocity Press' books.

Last month, Velocity Press published Let The Music Play: How R&B Fell In Love With 80s Synths, a book exploring the impact that synths and various forms of music technology had on the development of R&B through the '80s and '90s. Meanwhile, a second edition of Jim Ottewill's Out Of Space: How UK Cities Shaped Rave Culture is set to be released via Velocity Press in April.

In more Peckham news, the team behind The Cause and All My Friends last week announced that they would be reopening The Greyhound pub this month, with a music programme highlighting DJs with links to local institutions including Rye Wax, Balamii radio, Dash The Henge and the Rising Sun Collective,.
