Hyperdub announces new Proc Fiskal EP, ‘Shleekit Doss’

The EP lands in September

Proc Fiskal will return to Hyperdub in September with his first release of 2019.

The 'Shleekit Doss' EP, Proc shares, is “a kind of representation of the time I was running the club night of the same name in Edinburgh."

“These tunes represent the night’s ethos of genre-defiance and high-energy futuristic sets," the Scottish producer says, "ecstatic and transcendent while still being fun and stupid. I was getting my friends to play and I made all the posters on my phone - like this EP’s artwork."

The six-track release follows Proc's 2018 boundary-breaking 'Insula'. In a similiar vein, 'Shleekit Doss' showcases his passion for experimental club music, mixing melodic rhythms, glitchy drums and razor-sharp synths.

The diverse EP taps into a multitude of genres, utilising drone and ambience on opener 'Satan' before incorporating house elements and jungle breaks on tracks like 'Pico'.

'Shleekit Doss' will be released via Hyperdub on the 13th September. Check out the video for 'Prop O Deed' below and pre-order the EP here.

Loraine James will also release on Hyperdub in September, with debut album 'For You And I'.

Hyperdub fronts DJ Mag UK's August cover this year. Keep your eyes peeled for the in-depth interview in the coming weeks.
