London club Hangar has shut down

According to the listings, the last event at the east London venue took place on the 25th August

With seemingly no notice, popular east London venue Hangar has closed down.

The Facebook page has disappeared, and the venue's official email address contains the following auto-response:

"We are sorry to say that Hangar will no longer be trading..."

A multi-use arts space in the basement of The Laundry Building in London Fields, Hangar had been hosting events in its current form since January 2018, and operated under two other different guises before that; The Laundry and Mangle E8.

Hangar used to be the home for Percolate's more intimate parties, hosting the likes of Horse Meat Disco, Objekt, Chaos In the CBD and Jacques Greene. The industrial, no-frills basement space was ideal for club shows. In recent months, the calendar seems to have quietened down, with the YOUR MUM'S HOUSE Carnival Afterparty the last event that took place.

According to the venue's official website, there are three events remaining in the calendar, the last being Aba Shanti-i on 28th September.

As of yet, Hangar have yet to release an official statement regarding their closing.

Another London club, The Cause, will shut in January 2020.

Last weekened, Dude Club in Milan hosted its final party with Marcellus Pittmann and Abstract.
