Nightmares On Wax channels early clubbing experiences and after-hours basement parties on new single series, CLUB E.A.S.E.: Listen

Nightmares on Wax has launched a new series of club music inspired by "basements and after-hours" parties, 'Club E.A.S.E.'

The legendary Leeds DJ and producer - real name George Evelyn - announced the new Warp series on 1st August. As well as nodding to his earliest clubbing experiences and genre-defining early records on Warp, the series will reference various musical genres and influences that inform his DJ sets.

Kicking it off is two-track single 'Yeah You!' and 'Come On Then,' which span up-tempo house and hip-hop. Ahead of the complete EP being released on 4th November, stream those tracks and check out the full tracklist below.

Speaking about the first tracks in the series, Evelyn said: "They express the early 90’s MPC, SP12 drum machine sample-based sound that I love so much! With undertones of hip-hop beats, famously coined by legends like Todd Terry & Kenny Dope. I feel this sound plays such a key part in my early days of clubbing and after-hours basement parties”.

He added: “Club E.A.S.E. is a peek into my DJ world and dips into the dirty house music world that N.O.W. grew up on.”Accompanying the release of 'Yeah You!/Come On Then' is the announcement of a Club E.A.S.E. tour throughout the rest of 2023, including takeover at HERE @ Outernet in London on Sunday, 4th November.

Last December, N.O.W. launched a new record label, HiyaSelf Recordings Unlimited. Earlier in 2022, he released a live album, reworking his last LP 'Shout Out! To Freedom'.
