Reinier Zonneveld releases new album, ‘Heaven Is Mad (For You)’: Listen
The release follows the Dutch DJs recent Guinness World Record-breaking live DJ set
Reinier Zonneveld has released a new album, ‘Heaven Is Mad (For You)’, via his Filth on Acid imprint. You can check it out below.
The Dutch DJ and producer describes his fourth studio album, out today, as his “most significant artistic development yet”. The project features the singles, ‘Music is the Answer (feat. JG)’ and ‘Move Your Body To The Beat’, both released earlier this summer, alongside a new remix of ‘Dance With The Devil’ from Belgian producer, D-Devils.
Speaking on ‘Heaven Is Mad (For You)’, Zonneveld said: “The philosophy behind the album’s tracks is that they should be nice for home listening, as well as if you’re on-the-go or in the crowd at a club or festival... The tracks are a blend of melodic music and energetic techno, with the themes, production, and sound design being on a whole next level compared to my previous albums.”
A large proportion of the music on the record was crafted on stage during Zonneveld’s lengthy live sets, which have provided an ongoing source of inspiration for the artist. In August, the DJ hosted his own music festival, Karren Maar, in the Netherlands, where he set a Guinness World Record for the longest live electronic music set –— at 11 hours and 11 minutes.
Later this month, Zonneveld will play all-day b2b sets with artists including Adam Beyer, Nina Kraviz, and Kiki Solvej, at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome. A museum exhibition dedicated to the DJs life and work will also be hosted at Our House in Amsterdam as part of this year’s ADE.
