Tiësto has been forced to pull out of his guest appearance at this weekend's Super Bowl LVIII.

Sharing the news on social media, the DJ revealed that he had to cancel his appearance due to a "personal family emergency", but did not add any further details. He had been due to play before and during the game at this year year's Super Bowl, and his appearance during the event would have made him its first-ever in-game DJ.

"Me and my team have been preparing something truly special for months, but a personal family emergency is forcing me to return home Sunday morning," Tiësto said in a post on X (formerly Twitter). "It was a tough decision to miss the game, but family always comes first."

Following Tiësto's announcement that he would no longer be able to be involved, the NFL confirmed that Kaskade would instead be taking his place. He will DJ during the pre-game entertainment, and during featured breaks over the course of the game itself.

Parts of Kaskade's performance will be aired live on CBS' Super Bowl LVIII broadcast in the US, while it will also be streamed live on the DJ's own social media channels.

Super Bowl LVIII, between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers, takes place at Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium this Sunday, 11th February.

At the start of this month, it was announced that Tiësto would be among the acts playing this month's UNTOLD Dubai.
