The release date for the final season of Top Boy has been confirmed – and the trailer has landed.

Netflix will again host the drama series, marking the third season that it has done so, and will premiere it on 7th September. Seasons one and two were first aired on Channel 4.

The fifth and final season was announced last year.

In a press statement at the time, the series' stars Ashley Waters, Kane ‘Kano’ Robinson said: “While the journeys of Dushane and Sully have remained at the core of the show, the new characters that have entered the world of Top Boy have become a key part of the show’s legacy, representing each new storyline in a raw, authentic way.

“With all this being said,” they added, “and staying true to our original goal, every story must have an ending and so season three will be our finale. A chance to come full circle and end the journey in the right way”.

Simbi Ajikawo (aka Little Simz) and Adwoa Aboah also star in the show, which is executively produced by Drake. The rapper shared the trailer via Instagram, writing in a caption : “No.Loose.Ends... Top Boy, The Final Chapter.”

Top Boy, which is centred on the lives of friends and rivals in east London housing estates, has featured music by prominent and exciting new stars in rap, grime, R&B and beyond over the years including Burna Boy, Jorja Smith, Central Cee, Amaarae, Pa Salieu and Unknown T.
