The Weeknd has appeared in a new episode of The Simpsons.

Aired on 20th March, the episode, titled 'Bart The Cool Kid', features the Canadian singer-songwriter and producer - real name Abel Tesfaye - voicing animated character Orion Hughes. In the episode, Hughes is a child influencer and the owner of a fictional skate brand “Slipreme" who befriends Bart.

It's not the first time Tesfaye has had a hand in animated television. As well as co-writing and starring in an episode of American Dad!, the Grammy award-winning artist also featured in a 2020 episode of Robot Chicken.

Check out a clip from his appearance on The Simpsons below.

Tesfaye is the latest in a long line of guest appearances by musicians on The Simpsons over the years, following the likes of Snoop Dogg, Michael Jackson, James Brown, Lady Gaga, U2, Dolly Parton, Smashing Pumpkins, among many others.

Tesfaye's appearance comes a month after he shared details of a new immersive television experience centred around his latest album, 'Dawn FM'.
