SOULWAX HAVE REMIXED SHOCK MACHINE’S ‘OPEN UP THE SKY’

9-minutes of cosmic disco…

Soulwax have been pretty busy of late — last month the Belgian electro-rock legends released their excellent soundtrack for new film Belgica, they're also about to reach 16 releases on their fledgling imprint Deewee Records (the 16th is dropping in a couple of weeks), and now they've found the time to deliver a 9-minute cosmic disco remix of Shock Machine’s ‘Open Up The Sky’.

Shock Machine is ex-Klaxon James Righton’s new solo project and sees the ex-Klaxon combining more traditional songwriting with contemporary sonic excellence, which is a world away from the dance-tinged output of his previous band.

‘Open Up The Sky’ is the second track from Righton, and see the Belgian duo — which consists of the Dewaele brothers — deliver a trademark Soulwax rework of the track that's full of cosmic melodies, rumbling basslines and plenty of the original’s airy vocals.
