Taking stock of Lady Waks' rise to prominence

Swedish DJ/producer Axel Boman's name crops up on all the best festival and club line-ups, DJ set lists and label discographies. His imaginative, freaky tunes have graced labels like Permanent Vacation, Pampa and Hypercolour, but it's his own label and musical headquarters Studio Barnhus, run alongside Kornel Kovacs and Petter Nordkvist, that he's most famed for. Raised on soundsystem culture, deep bass and inventive, cross genre music, Night Slugs co-owners and DJ/producers L-Vis 1990 and Bok Bok have created a label, musical family and aesthetic steeped in innovative dance tradition, but constantly pushing into new sonic territory.
