Hardwell's fascination with hardstyle seems to be growing as he's recently been spotted in the studio with legendary hardstyle producer Wildstylez.
Well, it would seem that the former Top 100 DJs winner is continuing to experiment with the genre alongside one of hardstyle's most celebrated producers Wildstylez.
Headhunterz has won the highest hard award in DJ Mag Top 100 DJs 2017 poll, marking his return to the genre by landing 33rd overall in the rankings.
Walking a fine line between creative freedom and success, the Dutch DJ and producer (real name: Willem Rebergen) has struggled to find the right balance in recent years.
Defqon.1 headed to down under for its annual Sydney-based event earlier this year, with sets from Brennan Heart, Gammer and Evil Activities topping the stacked bill.
The festival has now uploaded the event’s insane 18-minute aftermovie — that you can watch in full below — which features stadium-style production, eyeball-burning banks of pyrotechnics and an impressive assortment of hardstyle anthems.
Hardwell recently debuted a new hardstyle track, entitled ‘Make The World Ours’, during the end show of Dutch festival Defqon.1. The single is featured on the Defqon.1 EP ‘Victory Forever’.
Tracks from Bass Modulators, Clockartz, and Frequencerz are also set to appear on the EP.
Hardwell confirmed the name of the single Friday morning via Twitter. Watch that below.
Now in its eighth year, Holland's WiSH Outdoor festival has come on leaps and bounds since its humble 1500-capacity beginnings. Situated on the outskirts of Eindhoven, the festival currently caters for around 20 times that number and boasts an impressive eight acts from the DJ Mag Top 100 list.
Noiscecontrollers has been on a mission to bring hardstyle to new levels since 2005. With the emergence of hard dance in North America, Bas Oskam (Noisecontrollers) has been at the forefront with the increasingly popular movement, and is now releasing his first solo album All Around, March 14 on Q-Dance.
Get to know Noisecontrollers with Oskam’s self-curated top 5 tracks from his own catalog.
Willem Rebergen is breaking out of his shell. Not that the Harstyle linchpin, better known as Headhunterz, was ever a containable force.
Coone is quickly becoming the hottest (and hardest) thing to come out of Belgium since waffles.
“I’m proud to be back in the list, and it’s a good thing to get a global spotlight on hardcore music again,” Angerfist tells DJ Mag. 2017 has been a great year for him and he's played a lot of new festivals that have recently introduced hard stages. It something he's clearly passionate about. “In the past few years hard music has grown a lot. I can see that the crowds at events are growing and the people are getting more into it than before,” he says.
This year he collaborated with Furyan, Bodyshock and most recently Radical Redemption. “I’m proud of the remix I did this year of Tha Playah’s 'Why So Serious' as well,” he goes on to say. But right now it's all about his new solo album 'Creed Of Chaos’, which will feature collabs with several artists that he hasn't worked with before.
His highly anticipated album release will be presented at a special no-holds-barred Angerfist event on the 2nd of December at AFAS Live in Amsterdam, which in turn will launch the Creed Of Chaos 2018 World tour. As his fans would say, ‘Raise your fist for Angerfist'!
