Oliver Heldens has revealed details of his forthcoming debut album.
Speaking to Mexico City radio station Beat 100.9 FM, the Dutch DJ, producer and label boss suggested that the LP will drop later this year at the earliest.
Heldens said, "Since 2018, I’ve been doing less shows than usual. Before 2018, I did like 150 shows per year and now I do around 110 per year. So, I made a lot more new music. I am definitely thinking about my album. I already have too many songs that I want to release."
There's a festival taking place in a 180-year-old industrial mine this summer.
Beats For Love will run from 3rd to 6th July at Industrial Areal Dolní Vítkovice, in Ostrava, eastern Czech Republic — the facility closed in 1998.
Every Friday, we invite some of the world’s best DJs to our London offices for a #DJMAGHQ live stream to our Facebook and Youtube pages.
This week, we are delighted to welcome Oliver Heldens to #DJMagHQ.
What were your first experiences of Ibiza like?
“The first time I came to the island was in the summer of 2014. I played at venues like Ushuaïa, Pacha and Amnesia and I had a great experience at those places! I like that the crowds are such a mix of different nationalities. They also have such great energy and appreciation for the music. It’s hard to find anything else like it in the world!”
Tomorrowland’s annual stream has now gone live for its weekend one celebrations, with the mega festival set to stream music from Tiesto, Above & Beyond, Hardwell, Black Coffee and many more.
The festival, which is based in Boom, Belgium, is set to broadcast across four channels for three consecutive days this weekend (20th to 22nd July), as well as next weekend (27th to 29th July).
Swedish House Mafia are set to announce a world tour in 2019, according to Oliver Heldens.
The Dutch DJ/producer let the news slip in his new Heldeep radio show whilst announcing Axwell Λ Ingrosso track ‘Together’.
“So, Swedish House Mafia have now officially reformed, and are announcing a World Tour in 2019,” he said.
“This week’s Heldeep classic was made in 2007 by two thirds of Swedish House Mafia. This is Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso with ‘Together’.”
Oliver Heldens is back with a new track and different direction to his usual bass-fueled output.
'What The Funk' sees Heldens explore a fresh new direction that blends pop, disco and house with a ‘90s twist.
The track got its premiere in a mobile game called BeatFever, continuing Heldens’ affinity with the video game world, where he's a regular on streaming service, Twitch.
The video for the track, according to the press release, will be "a user-generated piece featuring submissions sent in from his fans on social media."
Oliver Heldens took to Twitter yesterday (6th September) to share the tale about getting kicked off the decks of his own Las Vegas pool party by the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors.
According to Heldens, he was replaced by the Warriors' own traveling DJ for a set full of mumble rap after only spinning for 50 minutes.
As the entire ordeal seems incredibly far-fetched, the tweets can be found below. Oddly, they begin with a 28th July tweet by Jae Azizi showcasing star Klay Thompson dancing to Oliver Heldens & Tiesto’s ‘Wombass’.
Oliver Heldens has extended an invite to the entirety of the internet to assist with his upcoming single ‘Underwater Melon’. Heldens is seeking suggestions for lyrics and album artwork.
At present, the instrumental sees Heldens veer towards unfamiliar mid-tempo glitch-hop and trap-inspired beats. According to Heldens, the lyrics will assist in making the track “real”.
“This is your chance to collaborate with me and I’m excited to hear what you got!” motives Heldens via his official website.
