A UK club would see its capacity drop from 370 to 30 if they adhere to new government guidelines for reopening venues.

Swansea club Hangar 18, who have thrown parties with DJ Seinfeld and Glitterbox DJ Melvo Baptiste, shared in a post on Facebook the dire impact that social distancing guidelines would have on reopening the venue.

Members of the Event Safety Alliance have released a 29-page guide for reopening music venues in the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic. 

Steven Adelman and Jacob Worek from the ESA coordinated with over 400 music industry professionals  to compile the guide, which outlines the possible health risks that will come with reopening venues and holding events post lockdown, and potential solutions to them.

£330bn is to be made available to support UK businesses affected by the global coronavirus outbreak.

As part of a daily press conference, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak, revealed that that the fund will be made available as loan guarantees for businesses. Any business that requires help will have access to a loan on "attractive terms".

In the midst of the global coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the Scottish Government has announced a £320 million rescue package for small businesses, including small clubs, venues and record stores. 

New York club The Dance is set to close after just four months on the Manhattan nightlife map. 

Opening in October 2019, the venue announced the news via an Instagram post on Monday 10th February, along with details of a final party set for Tuesday 18th February, with US Girls on the bill. Management issues have been blamed for the sudden shuttering. 

Three years ago, a map aimed to help people find the best clubs in the cities they were travelling to went viral. Now, its creator is developing the idea into an app.

The Techno Travellor Map, as it was originally known, is to become Clubeling, with its creator, Matthieu Rodrigues hoping to offer a "community-based tool" that is "accessible to all", so that people can answer the question of what nighttime venues they'd be best off spending their time at while on their travels.

Amsterdam club Sugar Factory has closed its doors with immediate effect after filing for bankruptcy.

The venue announced the action via its website and social media, saying: “The organization has done everything to proceed with their club shows and concerts, but the resources proved insufficient.”
