Belfast artist Son Zept will release his new album, 'A', this Friday 31st January.
Set for release on Belfast multi-disciplinary label, Resist-AV, the album swerves from distorted ambience and tape-hiss adorned accordions to full-throttle jungle breaks and techno, it's a typically diverse collection from the artist. Evoking the likes of Lee Gamble, Aphex Twin and AQXDM, 'A' is immense and rewarding, with more than enough delicacy and emotional poise to ensure it stands out.
Beijing-based producer Numbertheory will release his debut EP, ‘Horrible’, via Cork’s SESH FM this Friday 29th November.
Inspired by his teenage love for extreme metal, as well as trips to London to visit Evian Christ’s Trance Party and NKC’s Even The Strong hard drum parties, the two original cuts on ‘Horrible’ fuse elements of noise, techno and ambient with harsh metal tropes.

There are over 30 churches in Braga, a small historic city in northwest Portugal. Walking through its cobbled streets, their ringing bells are often heard from all angles, as if they’re talking, or singing, to one another. It makes for an appropriate backdrop for Semibreve, a festival that, in its ninth year, continues to set itself apart with adventurous programming, and a focus on rich, enveloping sounds.
“We’ve always liked the term ‘mutant’,” write Daniele Guerrini and Francesco Birsa Alessandri when asked to describe the abstract sounds of their label, Haunter Records. “We know it is one of those overused words that have begun to lose meaning, especially when used to describe music or any other creative effort. We do think it’s very poignant though; we like to maintain a kind of open-ended approach to the sound and overall aesthetics of the label, and we like everything we put out to be distinct.
“I’ve always been super fascinated by sound itself, and seeing how I can mould it into new forms,” says Tristan Arp, a New York-based producer whose club-focussed sounds beam with off-kilter percussion and buoyant melodies.
