Ableton adds Apple M1 support with Live 11.1

The popular DAW also adds new Max for Live devices

Ableton Live 11.1

Ableton Live 11.1 has been announced, officially adding support for Apple’s Silicon M1 chips, as well as tweaking some existing Devices and adding some new Max for Live devices.

Version 11.1, which is a free update, will be a welcome addition to those who’ve been waiting for many music production software companies to catch up following the first release of M1 chips in late 2020. The release also tweaks the existing Shifter device, adding a new mode for monophonic pitch-shifting in real-time and delay, an envelop section, a glide function and an LFO.

Two new Max for Live Devices have also been added, called Align Delay which lets users compensate for delay when sending audio through their system, and Shaper MIDI which generates modulation data. Improvements to comping, updates to Clip Handling and more.

You can read the full list of updates and download Live 11.1 on the Ableton website.
