Audio-Technica’s new Sound Burger is coming back in three different colours. Having gone on sale last week (31st May), the re-release of the original 1980s portable turntable is now available in white, black and yellow.

These new items follow the re-launch of a limited-edition bright red Sound Burger — the AT-SB2022 — last year, which marked the company's 60th birthday and sold out all over the world in the space of a few days.

The Sound Burger has a belt-drive system that can play 33-1/3 and 45 RPM records with a tonearm that "employs a dynamic balance system in which stylus pressure is applied through a spring".

The modern reinvention of the Sound Burger is also equipped with Bluetooth connectivity (offering up to 12 hours of wireless listening time after a 12-hour charge), a rechargeable battery that charges over USB-C, and a minijack (instead of RCA) output.

The Audio-Technica Sound Burger is priced at £199 / €239 / $199. Find out more and pick one up from Audio-Technica's site.

Last September, Audio-Technica launched a limited-edition gold cartridge with a diamond stylus to mark its 60th anniversary. The AT-MC2022 features a unified stylus-cantilever crafted from a lab-grown diamond (which incorporates a process known as chemical vapour deposition) and promises to cut out any distortion caused by the conventional bonding of stylus to cantilever.

In 2022, Audio-Technica also rolled out a new set of wireless headphones intended for professional studio use. Inspired by their own well-known M Series headphones, the over-ear wireless ATH-M20xBT edition boast multipoint pairing capability which allows users to connect to two Bluetooth devices at once.
