Beatsource to launch online store with streaming through Beatport LINK

A-Trak has also joined their Board of Managers

Beatsource – the joint venture between Beatport and DJCity, the multi-genre MP3 record pool website – has announced that A-Trak has joined its Board of Managers.

The new service is launching a digital download store in September, which will add Beatport LINK compatibility, meaning Beatsource will stream directly into DJ software and hardware, before the end of the year.

Of the move, A-Trak said: “Genre-specific stores don’t reflect the DJ landscape anymore. The open-format DJ community has needed a home where we can find all the music we need, curated by like-minded people we respect. Both Beatport and DJCity have been vital to the health of DJ culture for many years, and I’m honoured to work with their teams to bring some great products to market.”

Earlier in the summer, Beatport announced LINK, a subscription service allowing users to stream its catalogue to DJ software and hardware. Earlier this month, they announced a merger with sample store Loopmasters
